Placements differ by where you live, because the administration, the duration and the eligibility differ.

Where do you live?

India

Volunteering and internships in India

Open to applicants aged 13 and over, subject to the consent and reference requirements set out on the Volunteer page →.

Choose the Veterinary Track if you are a qualified veterinarian or a final-year veterinary student. Everyone else, including veterinary students in earlier years, joins the Applied Wildlife Management Track.

Duration

Internships (Veterinary or Applied Wildlife Management) run in fixed blocks of 7, 14, 21 or 28 days. General volunteering is flexible - tell us the days of the week you are usually free, and we will be in touch when help is needed on those days.

Cost

Participation is not charged. Residential volunteers pay for accommodation, food and utilities.

Certification

Awarded for completing your fixed placement block (7, 14, 21 or 28 days). Issued at RESQ's discretion.

What you will need for the application form
  • A few questions, so we can understand you better
  • Waiver, indemnity and conduct affirmation
  • Statement of purpose, briefly, on why you wish to join CAMP
  • Identity proof
  • Educational documents, for Veterinary Track applicants
  • Parental or guardian consent, if you are under 18
  • A reference from a RESQ team member, if you are 13 to 15
  • Institutional requirements, if you are an intern: hours, competencies, supervisor report, deadline
  • Vaccination certificates: anti-rabies pre-exposure prophylaxis, and tetanus
  • Physical and mental fitness declaration
  • Legal and ethical eligibility declaration — no pending wildlife-related complaints, legal cases or violations with the Forest Department or any lawful authority, and no criminal record or ongoing criminal proceedings of any kind
  • Media consent and release
How this works
1Enquire, by email, through our helpline, or through a member of the RESQ team.
2Apply. Complete the application form and upload your documents.
3Screening. Every application is read.
4AI interview. A structured online interview conducted by the CAMP AI Screening Agent, completed in your own time, with your video on, from any device with a stable connection. A member of the CAMP team reviews the assessment afterwards. It is a required stage.
5Interaction call, if we need one. A short conversation to understand your expectations and confirm suitability.
6Outcome, in writing. You will receive an email about confirmation or rejection.
7Scheduling with our Community Engagement Officer, and submission check of any declarations and vaccination certificates.
8Pre-arrival orientation. A digital pack covering centre rules, required attire and equipment, safety guidelines, reporting instructions, and your first day.
9Onboarding at the centre. Mandatory, and it happens before you begin.
10Your placement.
11Afterwards. Media folder access, and your certificate if it has been earned.

Outside India

International placements, in partnership with Worldwide Vets

All international placements at RESQ are arranged in partnership with Worldwide Vets.

You must be 18 or over. This is a condition of the arrangements under which international placements operate, and we are not able to make individual allowances. We are sorry to disappoint anyone younger, and we hope you will come back to us when you are older.

Duration

Fixed blocks of 7, 14, 21 or 28 days.

Tracks

Veterinary Track for qualified veterinarians and final-year veterinary students.
Applied Wildlife Management Track for everyone else.

Residency and cost

Residential and non-residential placements are available. Fees, accommodation, dates, pre-arrival information and visa assistance are administered by Worldwide Vets under their terms.
